I have written before about my obsessive-compulsive issues with sippy cups. In short: I hate how many of them don’t work, have a million little parts, and cost me $12 a piece to find out that my child can’t stand to use them. In fact, I created an entire online store of only the good sippy cups (bpa-free, of course) because I bought so many over the years that I qualified as a one-woman consumer reports division on the subject. In all my years of professional work and education, never did I imagine that my obsessive research skills would be directed at such a – how shall we say – tiny slice of life’s pie. But pet peeves are pet peeves, and I cannot tolerate spills or wasted money, hence my expertise in sippy cups.
One of my favorite sippy cups, the Safe Sippy, has come out with a new sippy cup version
that involves a straw and a lid. Why does this matter, you ask? Because there are a lot of juices and drinks (like the sneaky, fruit-flavored but vegetable filled V8 variety) that need a straw to flow out correctly. Many kids also drink better with a straw, and using one does not require tilting the cup so far back. And lids, lids are always good.
Voila – The Safe Sippy 2. In the cosmic scope of things, not such a big deal. In the effort to avoid pushing the buttons of my pet peeves, totally huge. Check it out
for yourself!!! And a hat tip to KKRRR for getting me on the ball on this one!
