Today’s product review is a great example of how dynamic the Twitter community really is. After an exchange about sites, the lovely lady behind My Precious Kid asked me to review one of her products, and, if I liked it, to write a review and host a contest giveaway for the product. I’m pleased to say that I really liked what she sent, and that one lucky winner will get to enjoy her generosity as well! Read on for the details…
THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Item: Safe Sippy Cup
Category: Baby Gear
Price: $16.99 + S&H
Characteristics: Spill-proof, BPA-free, durable, dishwasher-safe, easy to use, removable handles
Recommended Number: 2-3
Recommended Age: 6 months +
THE DETAILS
At last count, I have tried more than 14 kinds of sippy cups. Only the Born Free cup comes close to meeting all my requirements, and it still falls short. With that in mind, my expectations for how this cup would handle its use by my son were somewhat low.
Imagine my delight when, after four hours at the park, lots of in and out of the stroller, and a long car ride home, the cup performed as follows:
-It never spilled. Even after being rolled down a giant hill several times (don’t ask). It never, ever spilled.
-My son could easily pick it up, and because it is weighted to be heavier at the bottom, he could also set it down. By this I mean, he could set it down right-side up, not dump it on the ground so that the spout quickly became covered in mud and dirt and germs.
-The handles are removable, which makes for easier dish washing, though because of the way it is weighted, I recommend leaving the handles on when using the cup, even for older kids.
-It is BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and extremely durable.
-The handles are shaped so that they easily hook on to strollers, diaper bags, and even belt loops. I loved this feature.
-It has only four easy-to-disassemble parts: handles, cup, lid/spout, and valve. One of the annoying things about the Born Free cup is that it has six parts, many of which are hard to take apart.
Note: I did not receive payment for this review, nor do I receive money for any of my reviews. If I recommend things here, it is because I have used them and truly like them.
