THE DETAILS
I’m no children’s book expert, but I know that a great picture book is not only fun for kids to see and hear but also for the parents to read.
We first borrowed this book from the Downtown Bellevue Public Library, and it’s been a repeat grab since.
The illustrations first caught my eye. I had this sense that it was an old timeless classic, but I was wrong. This is a new timeless classic published just a few months before we borrowed it.
This story describes a train full of interesting characters, and how they all leave the station. The words are catchy and a pleasure to read. “Here is the school class off on a trip, and the children yell, Please, sir, please, ma’am… Are we there yet? And the train goes, Clickerty-click, clickerty-clack, Clickerty-click, clickerty-clack.”
The illustrations are special and interesting for both children and adults. We discovered that every page has at least one snail to seek and find. This is a great book to read over and over again for boys and girls.
